Cleo is a charmer, plain and simple. She’s gentle around humans and other dogs, but she does require patience and understanding about her history to make sure that she and others around her stay safe.

Alfie is full of energy and gets excited easily. He is stronger than he looks and not afraid to go after what he wants. On the whole, he is a gorgeous and harmless boy, just one who adamantly humps humans legs or fiercely defends a piece of rubbish he wants to eat. We don’t think this should count against him, he’s a dog after all!

Jade is a dog who goes with the flow but doesn’t have a family of her own. A bit weary of new people, she prefers to do her own thing independently. Once she gets to know you and you’ve gained her trust, she will welcome you with loving affection. When you visit the kennel, there are so many dogs with big personalities that like to take the spotlight, which means that easy-going dogs like Jade are easy to overlook.

Bella is one of the sweetest dogs we know. After coming down with severe skin issues, she was neglected and not given proper care, and then finally abandoned once her fur fell out and she became stinky. VKB is working tirelessly to ensure this very good girl knows that she is loved and to help her painful and uncomfortable condition heal.

Rudy is a wild dog who lives at the kennels but not in the kennels. He is very shy of humans, so he is not suitable to live in a home with family, but he feels at home with VKB. He rescued late in puppy hood and his wild genes were already formed to stay. We feed him and love him and let him be one of the free roaming guard dogs of the kennel. He likes this job.

Bianca is cute and loves people and walk time. She also love to attack other dogs and takes this role seriously. For this reason, she has to be kept away from other dogs at all times. It’s for her own safety, as she is brave even against very big dogs who could hurt her. This doesn’t mean she doesn’t deserve love and affection though, which we make sure she receives in large doses. Sometimes, some of the best dogs just require a bit more management.
 

Abby is very happy when her favourite volunteer is around. This volunteer is the only human in the world that she trusts. To the rest, she is still not sure she likes us and asks us politely to keep our distance. We think it's amazing that she has found a human to bond with so closely. 




 

Teddy is a local Mui Wo celebrity, as for many years he was loosely owned and lived outside the McDonalds and would politely asking humans to share their burgers with him. When he came down with a serious skin problem he came into the full time care of the VKB kennel team, to ensure he remains healthy and happy.
